governor

i have a new honda gc 190.i have removed all of the original intake,carburator and governor.do i have to disconnect anything internally/mechanically?i do not plan on racing or trying to get high rpm out of this engine.anybody know?hope to hear from you jaybirdy

I have my 8 hp power sport tec hooked up to my tote gote and i am wanting bypass it or take it off the gov but the throttle they have is so intricate i cannot see how to do it . Has anyone done it on these motors ?

OK, this has been bugging me. Why do you need to remove the engine internals in order to remove the governor on an engine? Why not just disconnect the governor arm and hook your throttle cable directly to the carb and be done with it? Will the internal governor parts do anything negative...

I have been getting conflicting information. Some are saying when you remove the governor it only gives you 5200-5500 rpm and you do not need to put on the 18 lb valve springs. Others are saying you do. What is the correct answer? And Why? Thanks Randy

I have removed the governor from my H50 and there are a few things that I am uncertain about. I've looked at the other gov. removal threads but my engine is different. I have taken out what I believe to be everything, and tapped the hole. Please see pic for questions.

I switched the intake from the factory one to the rupp slanted intake and now I am not sure if I have the correct governor link to the throttle. It is a HS40...what length should it be and what is the correct part #? Thanks, Bob

I have another question on my governor arm it seams like high low settings and then there is a 1, and 2 markings. What are these for?

The spring that hooks to the upright governor rod fell off and i put it back in the top (of three) holes. Is that the correct one?

When you de-govern an hs40 by removing the governor arm all together, how does one run the throttle linkage? because that arm seems to be needed to push the flapper on the carb. Thanks Mike
