starting

I have a new Honda GX160 sometimes it will start first pull, then die, after many tries it will start again then die. If I give it any gas it dies. After a while it runs well, but sometimes it backfires and dies. I only have about 10 minutes of running time on this new engine. Any help would...

Well got it all torn apart. Still searching for a back wheel and front fork spring but the rest pretty much there. I guess the bike was red when new.
