its funny you guys say a 30 will eat belts on a heavily modified motor but iv got a 30 series with the 3100rpm engagement springs in the primary and the yellow secondary spring, on a modified Briggs raptor (billet rod and flywheel, 315 lift cam, ported, heavier valve springs, shaved head mikuni vm22 and a header) and I'm not eating belts. I get 2 years out of a belt before I replace it and even then it was still useable, just worn down a little. maybe I'm not at the belt eating horsepower yet?

All depends how you use the power you have.

I reduced a cheaper belt like the PIX brand ( soft Kevlar belt that grips well but..... ) to crumb rubber all over my back wheel in an afternoon.
But that was doing speed runs on a new bike.
Not all belts are the same, I have never done a comparison but I know there are some that offer fantastic life and some with softer material that launch harder.

Today I rarely open things up.
Hardest thing I do is some trail riding belts last as long as you have observed in that kind of service.
