5.5 GX160 Clone Eats Plugs

I have a MB165 with the 5.5 Jiang Dong engine. It just destroys plugs. I have to replace it every 5-10 hours or so. Any thoughts? I'm going to put a different coil on it to see if that will help.

Nothing quite so extreme. I suppose I should have been more specific. The plugs just start misfiring after several hours of use. I guess the internal resistance must increase to the point it won't fire correctly. After 35 years of messing with internal combustion engines, I've seen many plugs just stop firing properly, especially when they get hot. I've just never seen it happen repeatedly on the same engine.

Make sure you aren't running too rich. Too much carbon buildup will kill a plug in a few hours.

Get a new plug, run it for a few minutes, and pull the plug. If it is black, you know your problem. You want the plug to be tannish/brown.
