A deep thought

Where is Clusterfookistan and what does it stand for?
Been a wierd day.
Looked in a mirro today and lost sight of myself.
Could not recognize that ghost staring back at me for a moment.
Why was he there what did he believe in at all and how he has changed since I realy looked at him.
Let me tell you how it happened.....

Found a man I work sitting on a mat 3000 feet underground praying.
In a god awful place with screaming diesel engines and 150 hp fan scream over his head.
But it was a sweet littel place no one would liekly see him in ( unless your a nosy electrcian follwoing power cables ).
I understood quickly because he was from Indonesia what he was doing and tried not to disturb him.....
Later though I had to ask how can you concetrate and pray in a shit hole like this?
He told me something cool.
1 The sound of all things including that little chant he as doing praises god where words fail....
2 Ear plugs.....

Days just don't start off wierder than that do they?

Looked in a mirror at lunch as I washed up to eat.
I look old these days lol.
Standing there though listening to all that rat tat tat of driilling, rumble of heavy equipment, the crunchy noises of big rock being turned into little rocks adn howling fans and people trying to talk over the clatter and I carefuly considered that previously mentioned thought the in all things that make a sound are in praise of the creator.

I could not hear it.

If you were working , as an emigrated foreign worker with an English accent, in a mine in the Muslim portion of Indonesia, and were caught praying without facing East and without bowing what do you think might happen?

1.

2.

3.

4.

5. All of the above.

I'm slightly miffed at that.....

Are you a completely godless athiest?
( I am )

You never consider your place in the world?
Never ask why am I doing this how did I get here?
Or more importantly durring a midlife crissis " is this all there is " ?

A deep discussion about these ideas at work today....
Talking Heads - "Once In A Lifetime" - YouTube

We also discussed going to the Moose lodge and joining.
The hall is not far from work and it looks like there are only old men there now.
Maybe some new blood would spice things up ( Not too many people these days want to join the Orangemen, Knights of columbus, moose, elk, ect..... )

Then we thought it migt be more fun to form our own.

This has pretty much explained it for me for a long time.

Stranger in a Strange Land - Leon Russell - YouTube

How many days has it been
Since I was born
How many days until I die
Do I know any ways
That I can make you laugh
Or do I only know how to make you cry

When the baby looks around him
It's such a sight to see
He shares a simple secret
With the wise man

He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land
Tell me why
He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land

How many miles will it take
To see the sun
And how many years until it's done
Kiss my confusion away in the night
Lay by side when the morning comes

And the baby looks around him
And shares his bed of hay
With the burrow in the palace of the king

He's a stranger in a strange land
Tell me why
He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land

Well, I don't exactly know
What's going on in the world today
Don't know what there is to say
About the way the people are treating
Each other, not like brothers

Leaders take us far away from ecology
With mythology and astrology
Has got some words to say
About the way we live today
Why can't we learn to love each other
It's time to turn a new face
To the whole world wide human race

Stop the money chase
Lay back, relax
Get back on the human track
Stop racing toward oblivion
Oh, such a sad, sad state we're in
And that's a thing

Do you recognize the bells of truth
When you hear them ring
Won't you stop and listen
To the children sing
Won't you come on and sing it children

He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land

I was torn here...

What are the most inspiring pieces of music in my life?

From what do I draw my strength?
Whats is the sound track to my strugle, the defiance, terror and if we have a littel room maybe squeeze in some hope?

Tough call....

Well its most likely Shostokovich.
This is probably the most important piece of music in my life.
Although written for a completely different strugle, its as fitting for my own battles within.

Now Will it play in Peoria?
Not today.

But it did on that dark night once in 1941
Before you click on this I want you to ask if you have anhour and one half to commit too it and I would like you to put it in the context of strugle between what we think is right and what we think is worng and maybe in all those subversive moments when we think we can't realy see the difference in the end at all......

Shostakovich: Symphony No.7 - Gergiev/MTO(2010Live) - YouTube

I have to say Tom your post has got some depth and honesty too it ( perhaps a glimps into the sound track of your beliefe system ) and this has encouraged me to post this
