OK ...thanks. : )..I've never gone into an engine..but watched many vids..if worth it I might..may be cheaper and easier to by a predator if this motor breaks..I'm over 60 and have a disability,no shop... weather here ok for under patio in the fall, winter, spring lately i just pay and take easy way out.....this Briggs is not a classic flathead or anything..but will check it out..I heard animal is hard core : ] Thanks again!

I started out playing with an intek like yours. Upgrading the cam and rod with take out parts is pretty cheap. I had mine up to 7500 rpm with the plastic lobe cam with no load on engine. It did not break. My family room was my shop for this small engine. What are your plans for this engine? Racing or cruising? The animal is based on this engine.

I only ride on my one acre lawn and skiny dead end dirt road I live on..I will probably just put it on a monster moto mmb80 I got off CL that I wanted engine as a spare for my db30S..I almost decided to put the Intek on the db30,but I adore my little db lawn scrapper..it's not fast..silly fun..gearing 8.5 to 1.. it's just would be something different..I got a Coleman ct 200u that's mostly stock..I'm a disabled service tech retiree with nerve damage so working on stuff hard for me..I take short rides and tinker with them..i would do more engine work if I could and if had more room to ride..sorry long winded answer.. : ]

My first intek was used on a kart and it had all stock parts and never failed. I believe that you will be fine using it as is. Just put quality oil in it and ethanol free gas and you should be fine. My 2 cents.

I got is on 2 cycle chain saws and outboards.. yeah I use synthetic oil and run ethanol free gas...would you believe I live down the street from a lake and got to drive 15 miles to get ..none of the 5 stations that circle the lake carry ethanol free gas :/

When I was a kid I had to play under a pole barn (i had to build). Dad had the shop but none of my stuff was allowed in it unless I had to do something like weld or air up a tire. Heck I built my first drag truck (v8 luv) laying on plywood under that barn and it outran his malibu regularly.

Now his shop is all cluttered up and he works in mine all the time, I've often thought about kicking him out under that old barn just for laughs.
