Comet 30 on a rupp

#1
Has anyone out there put a comet 30 setup on their rupp?
Just mocked it up on mine and it looks like it would work
with a longer jackshaft.my rupp parts are worn out and
it seams like the 30 parts are easier to get.

Hi Im looking to do the same setup.

Hi Im looking to do the same setup. I was just wondering how you spaced the jackshaft so it wouldnt hit the swingarm. Also wondering what i can do about the jackshaft being too short.
Thanks for any info you may have.

Problem

The problem i am having is that I have a comet 30 setup and the stock jack shaft and I have to run the 30 driven clutch the other way around then your 20 series because of the two different angles of the belt and my driveshaft is too short to thread on a locknut. View attachment 56469

use a 20 and put a longer jackshaft on it with lock collars
mine works fine like that, a lot eaiser than trying to get a 30 to work

I put a H50 on my 72 Roadster 2 with ALOT of modifications.
I made a plate to relocate the Big Block and to actually center the engine weight for balance.
I used a Comet 30 Primary clutch and stock rear secondary Rupp drive system. I machined a Jackshaft extension to line up the pulley system. A stock "Rupp" belt.
