Copper color Briggs 3hp

#5
Any briggs with I/C (industrial/commercial) is a cast iron bore by my understanding. Anything else is usually aluminium. Correct me if i'm wrong
Naw, you're (kinda) wrong sorry... :doah: lol . .. .seriously though, there are some non-I/C engines with the cast iron liner from back in the day, before Briggs even came up with the I/C nomenclature (which was in the 1980s). For instance, I have a real early 1960s Briggs 6HP with cast iron liner and a 1959 sales brochure that mentions the cast iron liner option. Also, many if not most of the Craftsmen Tecumseh engines had the cast iron liner, not sure if they did the same with their Briggs engines, too?

I figure out the cast iron liner engines by using a strip of magnet material through the spark plug hole....you can feel it stick to the cylinder sides if it's not a Koolbore.
