Im not sure of the H or HS designaton, H is horizontal shaft. S is small frame, if therre was a SK that would be hssk, snow king. usually the side exhausts were on tillers, i think that designation would show up in the spec number not the model.
I popped the valves out to check how they set guide clearance, the intake is tight, like youd expext, but the exhaust has alot of slop, not what id expect, but now I wont worry so much about tightening up old engines when I go through them
