Honda gx160 misfiring under full load

#1
Hey guys its been a while for me here on OldMiniBikes.

Anyways, took the bike out today for a bit. Was running fine and then it just started sputtering/misfiring under full load.

It didnt stall and I rode it about a quarter mile back home on maybe 1/3 throttle. I looked at the plug and it was a bit sooty, which I basically already knew that was going to be the case since I upgraded the jets to .036 and new emulsion tube without modding the air intake.

Changed the plug to a regular Bosch and took it for a ride.. Same symptoms.

Examined the spark and I thought it seemed weak. It was yellow colored and looked weak.

I thought I remember seeing that when these coils run on high speeds for extended periods, the coils just die faster?

I thought the spark should be a bright white/blueish color?

Did my coil just go bad like that in the middle of a ride?

Could be. I'd eliminate the kill switch and low oil sensor first though just to be sure.
