hs50 mikuni intake manifold

#2
It kind of depends on what mikuni you have.... I know the 22mm round slides have a flange built onto the card that i have reamed out the holes on the intake to make line up on my hm 80.... Then I ended up using a 24mm flatlide carb that does not have the bolt flange on the carb.....( I think it was much esier to may these type work on most any intake) The way i made this type of mikuni work was to either
1) cut the flange off the end of you existing intake and use this to connect your carb to the intake

2)Or if your existing intake is not round where you would cut it off you can always leave you existing intake as is and find one of these that bolt up to your intake and still use the rubber flange above:

I have done this both ways on a couple different things. If this is not making any sense PM me and i can try to help you more with this

I have made quite a few of them, there are others that have made them also. 20 and 22mm Mikuni carbs work real nice on the hs 50! I can weld one up for you If you are interested.

manifold

Hi,
Are you still in the business of welding up intake manifolds for the mikuni 22mm carb?
How much?
I have the newer HS50 with the "squarish" inlet.
Thanks,
Mike

A many a time i have thought about a custom intake and a Yoshimura MJN.

EDIT: So i wonder if you could use a hammer and a square-ish peg and go medieval black smith on it and square out the pipe to fit a custom ground flange? Perhaps there is much more efficient smart way to go about it?
