Is this Fixable?

#1
Hey I have a Tecumseh H50 engine that came on a minibike I traded for recently and it seems to be unkeyed or the keyed part of the engine could have been cut off:confused: (the end of the shaft is rough like its not factory made)? Does anyone have ideas of how I can attach a clutch to this or is it now a useless piece of metal?
Can it be keyed?
This is a picture of the shaft

This is the model #

picture didnt show for me, but it sounds like you might need to swap in another crank. that one was probably cut off a pump or some other industrial application. just guessing here w/o a picture though.

if it was mine, I'd drill a 3/4 keyed rod and bolt it on the stub and then weld it up and flap wheel it smooth and be riding that ho before you know it.

Or.....run a sprocket and chain to a jackshaft and clutch.

Thats the best option

Would you guys be able to explain with more detail? Either option sounds do-able though i am kind of a newbie so more detail the better. Thanks
If you have a jackshaft on the bike, you can put a sprocket on the motor, then another sprocket on the jackshaft, so it is always running with the engine, then put your clutch on the jackshaft running to your wheel..

There probably is no keyway though. so you'd have to cut one with a dremel, or even drill bit or something... Then crank the sprocket down nice and tight with a bolt in the end of the crank shaft....

You could slide the sprocket on the spot eld it at the end of the crank....

You could maybe weld on an extension some how, but it would need to be slid onto the existing crank and need some machining..

Or just buy another crank shaft... I had to change this one out, and this motor is like brand new H50 1969 minibike correct now in new paint and all..
