learning about racing motors

i wanna learn about racing motors so when i buy performance parts i wont waste money on something that wont help me go fast at all so if theres any books or videos i would really like to know

The link that buckeye provided you has all the information you will need.:shrug: Just pony up the $$ and BUY the book!- it will be the best $ 25.00 you ever spent if you are planning on building a Briggs 5Hp for performance. How old are you?

Both those links are good, the book is awesome. Try a search on the forum for the motor you want to build up and read everything you can about it. Try reading this it has a lot of the stuff in the book.4 Cycle Karting Forums - FAQ/Tech
