Locations of Model,type, and serial numbers

I am rebuilding a 2.5 or 3 hp B&S motor to remounton the minibike it originally was on. The engine shroud/recoil starter is missing...I have looked for and not been able to find any mfg markings on the pieces I have left. Is there any way to take measurements or somthing that would back me into the numbers so I might be able to find other parts for this motor? Did B&S mark their engines anywhere besides the shroud? I am sure this mini was from mid to late sixties.

look on the head their should be a number inbetween the fins. i belive it will be 8 it it is a 2.5hp 9 if it is a 3hp and 10 if it a 3.5hp. i might be wrong on the numbers but check.

I have a 5hp engine in a similar situation, but the numbers were ground off the blowerhousing where the numbers were originally stamped. I know what series the number is, but not the type, etc. Fortunately, I guess 5hp mills are pretty common for parts...
