My First Build! Manco Streaker, Honda Gx160

#1
Hello everyone, very excited to be a part of this group. I picked up my first build and first minibike today, it's a Manco Streaker!
With a Honda GX160 5.5HP on it.
I paid $325.
First Impressions, the motor turns over first pull, and it's quiet due to the stock muffler. I'm wondering is there any advantage of changing out my carb, exhaust and air filter? Would I see any gain? Is it worth removing the governor from this motor. It has a lot of torque but it's not faster than my 40cc pit bike. I was shocked when my friend was going faster.

Have you checked your speed with a phone app? Certainly worth picking up a $20 tachometer and making sure you are getting full RPMs, 3600 is stock, though the governor can usually be adjusted for another thousand or so using the various spring holes. I’ve seen many engines that are not getting full throttle on account of a loose throttle cable that just needs adjustment.

Welcome to the madness!
Just my opinion, but I do think that is about as fast as I would want to go on that tiny bike.
I would keep it just the way it is. It is a great looking ride.
If you want to tinker and go faster, get a bigger frame to use as a "project" (unreliable headache, money pit...that's why we call it a HOBBY!)
Then you'll always have the Streaker to ride.

Congrats on that find. I totally agree it pretty much has it all. That "little" Honda engine fits in your chassis so perfectly I'd swear they're made for each other.

I was thinking maybe a combo brake disc & sprocket upgrade would help with your desire for speed. Looks like you've already got a great bracket for it all right on that lower tube. A rear disc/sprocket assembly would give you modern braking, while automatically expanding your gearing options.

I'd want to calculate the gearing, too. Here's an earlier thread with links...

And there's a good amount of gx160 upgrade talk on this site as well. You just gotta poke around...

Good luck. Cool bike..

I appreciate you for sharing that link. I was looking for a speed calculator for Go-Karts and you made my day by sharing that link. I love casino gambling, and for the past few days, I have been doing some research about casinos and the sites on which we can gamble. The most important thing in gambling is the site. You have to choose the app wisely. To solve this problem, I have found a solution, which is this https://casinosanalyzer.ca/free-spins-no-deposit/100-dollars site. If you use casinosanalyzer then you will know what you will get from each casino, making it easy to choose one that matches your taste and play style.
