There is a chapter of guys "Rough Riders" around me that build and race them.. I think they all run the briggs vert engines.. They make quite a lot of after market parts for them.. I believe billet flywheel is a mandatory safety part to run..
Then whatever else ya want to put on... I was admiring the one at dudes garage sale, the head honcho in our area, and was telling him blah blah I know what I'm doing too and like these motors but hate the carbs.. It would be a good one if there was a main adjustment.... :mellow:
BUT he had that figured out and he makes his own adjustable jet for the newer idle adjustable only carbs, and that's what a lot of those guys are running..
billet rod and flywheel, head and port work, and stock carb with big air filter and adjustment screw in the bottom..
