Should I remove the jackshaft on my 5.5?

If your jackshaft has two sprockets the same size
nothing will change if you remove it.

If the gear on the clutch side is larger than
the gear on the rear sprocket side
you'll go faster if you remove the jackshaft.

....your chain will keep popping off if you do the removal,
so leave it alone ( Is there an echo in here).

I would never remove your jackshaft.:doah:You can alter your gear ratio or center your engine or back tire with ease. :pimp:your chain is also shorter and is less likley to fall off.:biggrin: Just keep good bearings in it and it is all good.:smile:

Removeing the jackshaft from a minibike is exactly like removeing a Williams Quick Change rear end in a race car and replaceing it with a standard rear end. The jackshaft, by switching or changing a couple of cheap sprockets, gives you any final ratio you want.
