starter nut question

newbie question but when adding a starter nut to your crank shaft do you use it in place of the nut holding the flywheel or just add it to the end of the shaft? thanks in advance.

remove the original and screw the new one on. You don't have enough threads for both!...newbie!:laugh:

They are usally made to take the place of your original flywheel nut....don't forget to torque it down...54 ft lbs.

Like i said im new to it but actually i have almost 1/2" of threads left on shaft hints my question. But thanks for the answer.
