The Windber Orange Flyer--Courtesy Posting of Rules and Requests by the Milhakos

#1
A poster had asked about the orange flyer. I've attached it below. Trikes are probably a phone call to Jeff. The rules say no "three wheelers on the grounds," so I guess that's subject to interpretation by the host. If you can't see the flyer (I had to jpeg it as a pdf wouldn't work), pm me with an email address and I'll send it to you. My second trip; I enjoyed my first and I do want the family to continue to support this event.

I spoke with Gumpit before last year and we thought that if we laid low for a year or two we could send our best emissaries to Jeff bearing gold, frankincense and myrrh as gifts and maybe we could get back in Jeff's good graces with three wheelers. One never knows what a little grace and humility may bring.

Jeff is more than fair. The problem is he is too nice to tell people no when they show up with trikes in their truck and start riding. If you respect the event, you'll respect the rules. Most people do but there are a few who come and jeopardize the future of this great weekend.

Did I miss something? It says no three wheelers, quads or dirt bikes. A trike isn't really a three wheeler. I would think a three wheeler to be more like an ATC. I thought the rule was to prevent damage to the grounds. I can see a 2-stroke 125cc engine tearing up some earth, but not a trike.

I know that Jamie said he spoke with Jeff and he was okay with his trike. Perhaps some clarification could be in order?

I guess if you were there in the rain the last two years, you would see what the trikes can do to the grounds. I'm not against them in any manner. It was great seeing everyone have fun. It's the same as letting in the two stroke dirt bikes. Say yes once and you have a dozen.
