I saw that too a while back.. I have a pretty detailed Tilly manual if ya want it DZLBIKE.. and four or five good sized one Tilly carbs...

THE HL doesn't mean dick though... HL35 was built one carburetor before HL36...

Homelite orders one the size of a pencil for a weedwhacker... It's an HL whatever...
Next guy orders a bear can sized one for a 500 Arctic Cat and it's HL the next one in line...

I have like HL424 thats 5/8 bore.. and HL60 that is one inch bore..

But this book I have does a good job of breaking em all down...

I have your west bend too....

the HL has something to do with size, the HL was used on engines that were mostly 10 HP or less, the HR was used on most single cylinder engines under 20 HP and some twins up to 28HP, the HD was used on engines over 20 HP.

The HL & HR use the same rebulid kit, but the carb body is bigger on the HR, all parts are bigger on the HD carbs, they also have an HC that is just a little smaller than the HL and was used on a lot of chain saws in the mid 60s. I need a HC if anyone has one to sell.
