What causes a weak spark ? New points, condenser, coil, and plug. Point and plug are gaped correctly. My spark tester is showing a weak spark.
Thanks.

If you have a removable / replaceable spark plug cap, try trimming a quarter inch of the old plug wire away and then reinstall the plug cap. Check the cap for high resistance. It could be on the verge of failing if much more than 10,000 ohms or so on a resistor cap. Plain caps should have only a few ohms of resistance at most.

Run the points gap to the minimum. Yes, it might require adjustment more often but the points stay closed longer prior to opening thus saturating the coil with electricity longer to provide a stronger spark.

Your coil could be losing that lovin' feelin'. In other words, the enamel insulation on the internal wire windings may be breaking down giving your coil some internal (but incomplete) shorts that rob it of performance.

Make sure their is no oily film on the points also make sure the condencer body is well grounded sand any rust off the flywheel magnets and the coil armature . Don't always believe your meter do the good old boy check with the plug hooked to the wire give it a yank and look for a spark (keep flamables far away) and remember gas vapors will be shooting out the spark plug hole .... nevermind just put the plu in and try and start it
