Anyone can be skilled and experienced and build a mini. I like to think that not knowing very much -at all- and having limited mechanical abilities will really bring a refreshing taste to a project bike. :shrug: There will be a lot of guessing, poor taste, costly mistakes, and overall bad...
How do they come apart? Can anyone provide instructions on the proper way to disassemble the retainers so the fork lowers can be removed?

Well, I got the Powell off craigslist and it may turn out to be just a pile of parts. After sheading the extra weight and hosing it down to reveal what lies beneath...the frame may be the only thing worth saving. And, it may be too much for me to handle.

I have a Powell with the shifter that rocks the engine cradle forth and back. I have the version that has a coil spring to index the shifter handle. If someone can part with one of those springs, I would be grateful...and I will pay for it!

This is a Powell spark arrester in excellent condition. I had it bead blasted then cleaned the bottom very well. Looking for $125 shipped...or make me an offer!
"Once upon a time", a long time ago, I acquired a Powell through a bit of horse trading. This Powell was "good from far, but far from good". Me, being the naive minibike boy thought this would be a good Powell project. Never liked the Powells until I got one...they grow on you.
