Evaporust O.K. for clutch rust removal?

#1
The photos are of a nearly 40 year old Comet clutch (bell housing removed) off of a Sears Roper 2-speed jackshaft assembly. There is visible rust in various locations, including the 2 springs, I would like to soak the entire thing in "Evaporust". Any harm in doing so? Due to the age and rusting of the springs I did not want to try and remove (unhook) them to clean for fear of breaking the ends off.

Also, please note the odd wear pattern on the shoes, with a raised lip/ridge on the right side. It looks like that right side edge was not inside and making contact with the bell housing? Would it be best to grind that off smooth to match the rest of the shoe surface?:grind:
As always, I would appreciate your words of wisdom!

Dont do anything to it. Rust is actually good for a clutch. It helps it lock up. Incase your planning to paint it, the rust will come back anyways.
