Experts Advice Please

#1
Hey guys and gals I need some advice, I'm building this old EZ Rider for the build off and this is some of the mess I've had to deal with. So this is what the upper frame rails looked like before I cut the welded places out. I 'm still not sure why this was done.

This is what I ended up with when I put the new metal back In, but while looking at some pics in the ARCO photos...I don't see any EZ Riders with these bends, they are all straight. So either the rails were straight, and I still got work to do ?.. or did some of these bikes have these bends in them ?

OND, your frame is newer than this,
But this is what the top rails should look like.

I should have specified no switch plate on yours either. I wish I had a parts bike that style I'd hook you up. Everything I have is an early frame right now
