It wouldn't hurt to check the valve clearances. Ive had many snow king engines come through that would start and run fine till they warmed up. once the valve expands from heat, the small gap closes up and then the valve is open a tiny bit, just enough to not start.

Yes, this. I didn't realize it was a diaphragm carb. My 70 Roadster wouldn't start after sitting for a few hours unless I held the throttle open for the first 1-2 pulls.
