Hi Guys... Just picked up another CAT.. Says endura but does not look like any Enduras I remember. I can't find any photos or brochures of one like this. What year? Looks like its just missing a clutch cover but am not sure if it's the typical one that most cats used...
Any scans of brochures or photos would be great...
Please email dorect to oscarhedstrom at hotmail.com
THANKS

That frame looks just like one I have that was identified as a WildCat R3509. Mine is missing all the original stuff, but I'm pretty sure the one in the brochure picture looked just like yours. Here's a few pics of mine. I'll see if I can find the brochere in an old post.

The Endura frame is different from yours and mine. Maybe someone just put that sticker on the WildCat R3509 model? Here's the picture from a brochure of an Endura.

Thats a nice Cat, There has been a couple of those style 10 inch hard tail Cats come up for sale lately that are called endura's. I think it's a model that the brochures did not have a picture of or a later model Cat.
I have a Endura that I going to redo.

The endura had slanted motor mount and totally different frame. It looks like someone has put a different frame under all the endura parts. Cat frames aren't built very stout.. I bet the endura frame got cracked up. When I striped my eliminator down I couldn't believe how poorly it was built.:hammer:

Don't forget the Cat "Banshee". It looks like the Cat "Wildcat".
We'll find some actual brochures someday.

CAT scratch fever...

Hi... A lot of manufacturers used up old stock and released models which were local or sold through department stores... I have collected Indian motorcycles made here in MA for years. I know of several local bikes from the 30s and early 40s which were right from the factory, but different from the normal offerings...
I think scooterboy's CAT "slingshot" is original as sold regardless of how it's labeled. The patina tells all....
This endura/wilcat/banshee or whatever spent around 30 years in the same garage. Definitely came this way and may well be a simple case of a different decal or using up of stock on hand by HPE. Here in MA most cat's were sold through the Child World stores.... That's where I got a new Eliminator way back when. Like Mac, Edwin and minibike dude point out is even if we have brochures or magazine ads that does not really mean that's actually what a company produced. It would be nice to see something with these big wheeled hardtail cats, no matter what names on them.... A few guys asked for a better shot of the front sticker, so here it is...

What alot of people forget or don't know that Muskin had a Plant in P.A. also that might of made the bikes slightly different then the Calf. plant. Who knows. Here is some pictures of my brochure showing both Plants on the address part of the brochure. I always hear people say it was made in Colton Calf. but that might not be the case. Until we can decode vin's on these bike who knows where and why these bikes are the way they are named and look.

I knew they had a warehouse and or factory in PA. But when did Cat stop making Minibikes. Minidoodle site show up to 72 models I think, right off hand. I think those are later model minis to compete with the minicycles at the time.

Cat must've gone on manufacturing into 1973-74 because the Hustler MX below has 15 inch rims. That's a minicycle for sure:
.

Maybe there was a weird Endura.
