we all have heard of the terrible shooting in sandy hook well its just the start of this shit storm . there is talk of a assault weapons ban and all the other bad scary guns too. so boys and girls men and women we as Americans need to stand up and fight for our rights before they stripp us of them . call email what ever your reps and tell them we dont need another ban as it wont work , the last one didnt . we need to have the rights and freedom to have the tools needed to protect our selfs . we dont need bans on guns just on gun free zones . as the gun free zones are nothing more then hunting grounds for the sick people who break the laws killing people . we need to have the teachers concealed carry if they want so they can protect the children they watch over from the evil that wants to harm them . not be left defenseless at the mercy of a mad man .

and if your thinking why does someone need a assault weapon here is food for though . there looking at the stock the grips the mag it holds thats the measuring stick . all it takes is a stroke of a pen and grand dads old deer hunting rifle becomes a sniper weapon . it has a high power sight device and mag so its gone too . so dont let them take our rights away from us fight to keep them . even if you dont own guns or feel you ever do still fight for the right to have them . or one day soon we will wake up and have no rights left .

something i read from the 1700s , the best way to enslave the American colony's is to remove there guns so they wont be able to fight back . doing it slowly will destroy them from the inside out making them easy to take over .

In Canada we have already experienced a gun registry, wich, by the way doesn't work because what criminal will register their guns? Also, we are not allowed to have automatic weapons or pistols, pistols are only allowed if you register them with the government, and you are only allowed to shoot them at an authorized shooting range. I agree with Metalman 100%, let them know that taking your guns won't be tolerated otherwise you will be like Canada in that aspect and that is not a good thing. The sad part is, in Canada, if someone breaks into my home and he it toating a gun and I shoot him, I will be the one who spends my life in the prison system, not the thief. :doah:

Not only that, but it seems to me the entire point of the original post is to encourage those who might not otherwise do or say anything about the topic. Even the piece of land you are living on now was most likely taken by force at least one in history,what makes you think history will not repeat itself? The first gun control in the united states was to keep slaves from owning guns so they could not fight back,so they could not become free. They had to wait for someone else with guns to free them. We already have gun control in CT. Just try getting a pistol permit, have to take and pay for a course, have to pay for and get a background check, and have to pay for and get photo permit. Banning guns will not remove guns from bad guys, it will just induce a black market, and make bomb making more popular among bad guys.

There are actualy countries with even more liberal laws on guns than the USA.

The difference is the nature of violent crime in the USA.

Therefore the problems have less to do with the guns than the people who are getting their hands on the guns.

Seems reasonable then not to ban firearms but restrict them to people with clean records and those with permits.

It is my opinion that handguns are a bigger threat than military styel long guns.
I owned at one time one of the most fearsom weapons ever seen on the battlefield.
The 303 Enfield.
That should cause a chuckle.
But remember it could drop a horse and punch a hole through a lot more things than a hand gun......

I completely support the second amendment and our right, as citiziens, to bear arms... that being said, the only people I trust to properly and effectively use military-grade automatic weapons are those professionally/suitably trained to do so, and not the average civilian who gets his giggles blasting the hillside with a huge clip of ammo.
I just don't see how the average citizen has any business owning fully automatic firearms of these types, as they were deisgned for a certain purpose and, perhaps not so coincidentally, for a certain caliber of user (no pun intended).
There will be those who disagree with me, and I have no desire to get into a pissing match with anyone on this specific point of view, but that's the good thing about this country, we have the right to politely agree to disagree.
