Montgomery Wards

This is another nice little ride I picked up yesterday , Montgomery Wards Mini Bike looks like the 424 model in the brochure . This is a complete bike with motor and a box with the rest of the parts for the bike , it is rare  to get all the parts with a bike anymore so even after telling my wife I didn't know if I was going to get any more bikes I got this one and a few others yesterday .

Check it out

Way cool. I'd still like to add a suspended one of those to my arsenal someday.
Is a cool little bike It will fit in with the rest of the Montgomery Wards bikes that I all ready have .

I think its going to get the "optional shocks" as in the brochure on the net the solid shocks look a bit tough on the bones  .

Thats cool, did you get the throttle to match the other grip? those are hard to find.

Yes all parts come with the bike I think I might assemble it this week and see if the motor will start and see how it runs .

Who thinks I should strip and paint the bike or should I leave it as is ??

I had the same problem. Decided to paint mine. They clean up nicely. Really good bikes , just wish they used a drum instead of the band brake! :scooter:

Now thats a beautiful bike , Thanks for posting the pictures . I was actually going to sell this until I seen your bike and now it will get paint and a nice seat and hopefully it will look half as nice as your bike does  Was that a special shade of yellow ??

The brakes do leave you with the "oh crap" feeling a lot of times when riding but it was worse on my 525 with ten inch wheels so I put a drum brake wheel on it and made it a better bike to ride .

Thanks for the kind comments. Im proud of how it turned out. The paint is PlastiKote Engine Enamel . The color is ( Hot Rod Yellow ). Its available in most of the automotive stores around here. Its one of my favorite paints to use. Its says its enamel but it paints alot like lacquer, It doesnt seem to be as fussy about recoat time as some of the others.
