Powerdyne Galaxie Completed !!!

#1
Just finished my little Powerdyne Galaxie this week. This bike is a bit of a departure from some of my previous builds...but it was a fun one !!! The bike has actually been completed for a couple years in an "unfinished" state....IE: unpainted and lacking some detail like decals, etc. The choke lever was kept for convenience...Sorry for my usual crappy pics...:doah:

Great work. Brings back many fond memories.

Forty years ago for Christmas 1971, my first mini bike was a brand new Powerdyne Galaxie 150. Bright red frame -flip-up footpegs (but not spring-loaded) that were mounted midway back on the frame - chrome front forks with chrome springs - chrome front and rear fenders with black stripe decals - silver 3.5 HP Tecumseh engine - molded black seat with a white "passenger strap" - and a rear disc brake...that used the sprocket as the disc....and barely worked at all.

It was a beautiful bike. I believe my mom and dad paid $119 for it. I regret that I don't have a single picture of it.
