What size tire to use with scrub brake bonanza?

I have a scrub brake bonanza, model of bike is unknown. Its current rear tire is a bald double indianhead 4.10x3.50x6. Is that the correct size or should it be bigger (possibly a 5.30x6 tire)? The reason I ask is because when I ride it and push on the brake, the brake arm almost hits the ground and it doesn't stop very well. I don't know if its just because the tire is bald or if the tire is to small in diameter.

Any bonanza experts out there that can help?

Try unloosening the rear axle bolt and move the rear wheel forward toward the scrub brake. If you can do that, now your chain will be out of adjustment (re adjust it).

Thanks guys, I'm going to put a new rear tire on it and make the adjustments suggested to get it to stop better.
