Where do you find your mini bikes?

#1
I'm in Ohio near Cincinnati and have not been able to locate a decent priced mini bike frame. I look on craigslist but most are coleman bikes that people are selling for $450. I looked online but can only find the Azusa frames. I really like the Taco Frijole on the Taco website but for $375 I am thinking there has to be something better for the price. Any suggestions on where to look?

Yes, keep looking at Craigslist, letgo, etc.... Multiple times daily.

Great deals are on there, and get bought quick....so check often.

Before you know it, you'll have a garage full...

Try swap meets, garage sales, pawn shops, thrift stores, or get a job installing satellite dishes, so when your up on some ones roof you can look into the neigbors back yards and find the mini's....

Since you like the small frames, (and a lot of us do) why not check out some of the re-pops. Several members here can bend up and weld a frame and might be interested in helping you out with one. Otherwise, keep your eyes open, and be prepared to pay. A beat up Flexo roller requiring significant work will run you $500. An original Frijole, a little less, if you can find them. Do a "wanted" ad.

In the meantime, I was looking for a small frame project for a two stroke motor I've had laying around. I found this off of ebay. A re-pop, not that good on the welds, but a good job of frame alignment, and since it is not an original anything, I can pretty much have my way with it!

This will be my next project. The ebay seller is a guy in CA who sells a LOT of seats. Roller was about $250 shipped.

For me I have had the most luck just mentioning my interest in conversations with people and one thing leads to another and your at a friend of a friend's looking at a rusty jewel. So I would call it networking within your own sphere. There might be one right next door to you.
