I have read that a 5hp carb is the same as a 3hp carb. Is this true? If it is, would the 5hp rotary choke carb fit into a 3hp old style deep gas tank?

I've been battling this engine for a awhile now. The engine shroud says it's a 4hp, but I'm not sure if the shroud has ever been changed out. Its definitely smaller than a 5hp. It had a 5hp carb/tank on it when I got it but a PO cut off the lower tank mount to make it fit on the engine. It ran...

Looking for some more Briggs or even Tecumseh metal filler necks from old tanks that may be rusted or beat up and not useable...I need the smaller necks, 1.5" approx...

Well, just found out Im short on my bills this month so time to thin the herd. I have a Briggs 3.5hp Industrial Plus shortblock. Needs a hone and rings...it was puffing oil on reassembly. Has a fresh paint job on it. Iron bore, single bearing, 3/4 tapped crank. Selling with old skool 3hp housing...

im still learning,and have no clue.. did briggs motors come on minis originally? and did this particular motor come off one? or just lawn equipment? i ask because i was looking at the montgomery wards bikes recently and this one has a cool sticker. thanks in advance for any knowledge.

Hi guys , i'm trying to put a band brake on a Briggs model 80202 engine but it's doesn't have the pto holes to mount it. I'm looking at a new side plate cover on E-bay it's from a 3 hp Briggs model 80202 but it's from a gear reduction engine will it work and how hard will it be to install it...
