Minnesota Bound Tule Trooper !

#1
Now... I normally wouldn't make such a thread , but I gotta share a little bit of my excitement. My Tule Trooper is set to arrive within an hour or so and I gotta say I haven't been looking forward to something this much in a LONG time !

Arriving Fedex in a pretty massive box and weighing in at 119Lbs ! Yeah the shipping wasn't cheap :doah:, but I have been lusting and drooling over these things since first seeing one...and I had to have it !

Probably a pretty pointless thread....but I couldn't contain myself. Sorry

Congratulations derekbmn in making it into Trooperville. I seems like they just started popping up last year. I have one and parts from another one and a mini bike with a gearbox from a trooper. So put up the pictures of your new toy and we all can join in understanding your excitement. Steve :scooter:

Thanks all !! Pictures are gonna have to wait until this weekend. It is so fricken cold out in the garage.(it's 10 degrees) It's gonna be another long term project, but It WILL be done right.

The forks like sooo many mini bikes are a little tweaked back but nothing major. The frame is clean and solid but does have a few things that have been added at some point, that have to come off...no biggie. The bike has the 6" wheels which were an option and they are in REALLY good condition. The tires are shot and not sure what i'm going to do for those as they are a rather odd size that you just don't find anymore. Still has the original seat and only some minor split seams. (nothing my seat guy can't fix up in short order)
The transmission works fine. The internal expanding brake is going to have to come apart and be rebuilt and new pads put on.

It looks to me that this particular bike was perhaps a 6 or 7HP model buy evidence of the motor plate height. (the motor plate got taller as the HP went down to clear the transmission ) It's very short. I have a particular 7HP Briggs in my sites.(and while probably not #s correct it is the correct style with the updraft carb, etc)

A very neat bike !!

Pictures have been taken and are in my gallery. As you can see the frame has some "add ons" that have to go. :censure:

what is the tire size you need to find???:hammer::hammer::hammer:
6.90x6-6 They had Good Year Caddy Master tires originally. I have not found them anywhere.

I was thinking some Carlisle 5.30x4.50-6 sawtooths would look pretty good on it, but haven't decided yet.

I didn't know you could Fed X a Trooper. :scared::drinkup:

Never saw one with 6" wheels or different engine mounts.

Here's one of mine, let us know if you have any questions.

My old frankencush has 6" wheels also. I'm probably going to use 7.00-6 airplane tires. They are straight ribbed, but you may be able to get some used ones at your local airport. They will work fine until you can locate a good source.

Looks like all you are lacking now is the clutch! What is the shaft size on your new motor?
The clutch will look similar to this.
