I posted a add on Craig's list and got a text that just sounded fishy. Said he will send a check, give me your full name address. When the check clears he will send a driver. He was fine with price and condition just by looking at some pictures on Craig' list.
Has this happen before and what was the outcome ?

There's nothing fishy about this!! I'll send my driver to your house after you get your money.
Totally legit....NOT!!

A guy I work with almost let his Toyota 4-runner go on a deal like this. After telling me he had gotten the " certified cashier check" and had deposited it into his bank account, I told him to call his bank and tell them the story. Needless to say, the day before the check would have cleared funds, there was no money backing up the check.

Total scam.

I always tell them to send cash. Usually shuts them up quick.

And text messages that ask "is you item still for sale?" , get deleted with no response. If the person interested can't include what the item is in a text, they don't get a chance to buy it.

Ive gotten that plenty of times. Usually with the added twist of being in the military. You are supposed to let ur guard down easy when its a service member. Tell him the driver can bring cash if you want to buy something you've never seen.

I buy and sell a ton of vehicles ,and get bothered with this all the time .I tell them to send the cheque to their shipper ,who can bring me the cash when he picks it up .Surprisingly ,not one of them ever responded further ,or at least until I listed another vehicle and they had the same b.s. Story once again .
