Hi guys, here are some of pics of my latest project. I don't name my projects therefore the title. It has a briggs animal with .060" shaved off, billet rod, .310 cam with 1.3 rockers, a mikuni tm28 and as you can see a torque converter. The goal is 70 mph in the 1/8 mile on gas.
Here are pics of some progress. I haven't tig welded in a few years and my welds show it but I know that they will hold up fine. I need to mount the brake caliper and the engine and also add some foot pegs and she will be rideable.
Well guys I finally had a chance to work on the bike. My neighbor and I made a cover for the tav for safety reasons and also made a header for it. I had to change the head since the original had stripped threads. The new head is a stock WF head with a mikuni tm28. The mikuni needs to be tuned, it idles high and dies at about 1/2 throttle. Any suggestions on the mikuni will be appreciated.
Main is 180, pilot 15. Since I don't know what jets I need I was going to order several for each( main and pilot) but I noticed that the cost of the jets is about half the price of a Tilly carb. Should I sell the mikuni and buy a tilly or am I missing something here? Are there hidden costs with the tilly also?
