This is my first experience working on these little engines. So this has me baffled. Motor is a 3.5 Briggs but it will only run when the plug wire is off the plug so it is a 1/4" away, arcing. But not when it's connected.:confused:

Talked with Baja rep today about an intermittent stalling problem with my DB30 and he suggested replacing existing spark plug with an Autolite 259..

Does the lighting coil on these motors need to be plugged in to the harness for the engine to produce spark?

I have seen several spark plugs for this motor from basic to the autolite nascar plug. Which one has worked the best for performance on these engines?:confused::shrug:
Does anyone know an alternative spark play that can be used with the stock 2.8hp engine? I believe a hotter plug could help perfermorance a bit. The stocker seems to foul easily.
