restore

So I just picked up a new project. I believe its a 69 rupp continental with telescoping suspension. My question is regarding the front shocks. Was there a liner between the fork and the moving shaft with the spring. I only ask because it feels really lose. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanx

heres some pic sof my manco that i just about finished up. found teh frame and forks on CL sand blasted it all down new bearings,tire,tubes,etc clone 6.5 house of kolor paints with flake and pearls to match my 63 cadillac.
